I then put the workpiece in a 5C collet, fitted to a 5C hex block,
and put that in the vertical mill. Then it was a simple matter of touching off
the workpiece, zeroing the dials, and cutting 0.052" off of each side in turn.
0.852" - (2 x 0.052") = 0.748" Or rather, 3/4" nominal, loose fit.
